Neighborhood Traffic Calming Application

Harris County’s Neighborhood Traffic Calming Policy, adopted in 2024, was developed to lessen the severity of roadway crashes by reducing vehicle speeds and/or traffic volumes on residential streets within unincorporated Harris County.

If you and your neighbors would like the Office of Commissioner Rodney Ellis to study your neighborhood and consider funding the installation of traffic calming along your street or throughout your community, please complete the Application Form below.

Once a completed application is received, a traffic study will be conducted to review existing conditions within your community and determine if traffic calming measures are warranted based on recorded speed and vehicle volume data.
